Ultra Repairable? Apple Watch Ultra
Our pals at iFixit are right back at it, with their teardown of the new Apple Watch Ultra. Aided by some initial X-ray images to reveal the layout, they dug right into the latest from Apple.
With it’s much larger battery and improved GPS, the Apple Watch Ultra should be ready to compete with other smart watches in the adventure category. Hopes that this ruggedized version of the Apple Watch would be easy to repair aren’t quite realized. The screws to access the back, among 32 screws in all, failed to yield straight forward battery replacement nor simple screen repair. View the teardown to see why, and we’ll just have to cross our fingers that future models will offer greater reparability.
